Charge Roller

A charge roller is a component of a printer or copier that is responsible for applying an electrical charge to the surface of the photoconductive drum or belt. The photoconductive drum or belt is a critical component of the printing or copying process, as it is used to transfer toner onto the paper in order to create an image.

The charge roller is typically made of a conductive rubber material and is located inside the printer or copier, close to the photoconductive drum or belt. When the printer or copier is in operation, the charge roller receives an electrical charge from the high voltage power supply, which it then applies to the surface of the photoconductive drum or belt.

The purpose of the charge roller is to ensure that the surface of the photoconductive drum or belt has a uniform, negative charge across its entire surface. This helps to ensure that the toner is evenly distributed and transferred onto the paper during the printing or copying process, resulting in high-quality prints or copies.
